Ok so I’m going to be a little bit of a hypocrite today😅, but hear me out!
So recently I got the new Apple Watch Series 4! Which to be honest I am super pumped about! I’m excited to actually have a fitness tracker that will actually track my fitness lol. Before I had a Fitbit Alta HR which I really don’t have very many complaints about except for the fact it didn’t track MY fitness. I try to work out at least 4 times a week and practice Yoga daily however it doesn’t track it. It only really wants to track steps and quick movements. So for my lifestyle it doesn’t fit me. That’s why I and super stocked about the new Apple watches because they are the best fitness tracker on the market and can SPECIFICALLY track Yoga! Thank you Apple!🙏🏼
Gosh where am I going with this?
Anyways I also just wanted to say that you shouldn’t really need a “fitness tracker” to track you fitness or stay motivated. Your health should be enough motivation as it is. About 2 weeks ago I broke my Fitbit and I haven’t had any tracker on my wrist. At first I felt naked. I liked being able to see me heart rate or how many calories I have burned that day anytime I wanted, but after a few days I started to look more internally on how I was feeling. And I realized your body and mind are your built in fitness trackers.
Everyday asking just simple questions like
“How am I feeling today?” both physically and mentally. Ignoring any visuals
Just noticing my Health.
How’s my breath?
How’s my heart?
How awake am I this beautiful morning?
How is my state of well being today?
Am I better than yesterday?
And if you don’t get the answers you want to questions like that, then start asking yourself questions like these:
Have I been nourishing my body with the best foods?
Have I been allowing my body to rest the full amount of hours it needs at night?
Do I remember enough to bring movement in to its life, with dance, running, Yoga, etc?
And most importantly,
Do I remember to thank my body everyday for everything it does for me?
Yes we all love the newest shiny things, but there will always be some things that you will know better than any fitness tracker.
Remembering that we are completely capable of taking care of ourselves WITHOUT technology helping us along the way.
